AIRCRAFT NOISE COMMUNICATION PROBLEM
Most of the problems that arise during the ground-ground, ground-board and board-ground communications, onboard or in proximity of aircrafts with engines or rotors running, are related with the high-level noise operative conditions and the consequent difficulties to understand the communications and to sustain the noise levels.
These problems make the working environment not easily sustainable, and can
compromise the hearings of the personnel (bringing them to deafness),
reduce the attention during the job operations
reduce the number of operative consecutive hours.
To solve all these problems, and consequently to
Improve the speech intelligibility and, in general, the understanding of the communications,
Reduce the noise level perceived by the operator,
Improve the number of consecutive working hours (less noise means less stress and an
improved working sustainability),
Making the working environment more sustainable and healthy, reducing the acoustic damages,
GEMELLI introduced a line of headsets based on Active Noise Reduction (A.N.R.) and Microphone Active Noise Processor (M.A.N.P.) technologies.
The onboard intercommunication systems, necessary for communicating in the aircraft (cockpit and
cabin) or from the aircraft to the ground operators, are conditions.
These very high noise levels can compromise the communications and affect the safety of the operators, leading to physical damages of the auricular conducts.
The Active Noise Reduction (A.N.R.) technology, implemented in an electronic device, is capable of generating from the headset loudspeakers a signal equal in frequency and opposite in phase to the noise signal. The A.N.R. electronic card recognizes the communication signal coming from the microphone through the intercom and, without affecting it, at the same time it strongly reduces the noise passing through the headset protection materials.
Thanks to the A.N.R. technology, the undesirable ambient noise levels are strongly reduced and placed under control, with a consequent improvement of the working conditions and of the safety of the operators.
The M.A.N.P. technology is implemented in an electronic device capable of discriminating the communication (voice) signal among the other signals reaching the microphone. MANP keeps the line OFF when only noise is present, and ON when voice signal is activated. In this case, the voice content is detected and maintained at the original level, while the noise component is strongly reduced.
